Wildife Images' resident bald eagle, Miss Jefferson, was found badly injured near Lake of the Woods in Oregon.
Those injuries have left her unable to fly with arthritis in both of her wings, but her caretakers at Wildlife Images make sure that she is comfortable and happy in her new home.
Bald eagles nearly went extinct 50 years ago.
With conservation efforts their numbers have been returning. In 2007, they were removed from the Federal Endangered & Threatened Species list. With a good eye, you may be able to spot some when enjoying the Southern Oregon and Northern California outdoors.
