You can save a life.
Blood donation remains an essential action, as there is a critical need for blood right now in the country, and Pacific Northwest. That's one of the many reasons we are proud to partner with Bloodworks Northwest alongside our KOMO News colleagues to promote and encourage eligible members of our community in good health to make an appointment and give.
It's extremely simple.
Plug in your zip code online to find a donor center or pop-up blood drive location near you. You must be 16+ years old to make an appointment and donate, and in good health. Donors are required to wear masks for everyone's safety, and must wait two weeks after each COVID-19 vaccination dose for their next donation appointment.
Again, click here to make an appointment - and mention KOMO when you check-in to have your donation counted towards our KOMO Drive!
There's even a special Pop-Up Blood Drive at The Museum of Flight in Seattle on January 20-23, where all donors will receive 50% off a future visit and 10% off a gift shop purchase. You can make an appointment for the Museum of Flight drive online here.
Bloodworks has made ample adjustments during the pandemic to ensure safe social distancing and a safe, controlled experience for all donors and staff while giving blood.
Helping our communities and keep the blood supply strong? That's #SoNorthwest.
