If it seems like everyone is going red these days, you aren't wrong - it's one of the hottest hair trends at the moment! So, what can we expect in terms of hair trends for fall and winter 2022/23? We asked the professionals at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas. Colorist Seth Garrington of the South Lake Union location has some great advice for those looking to change it up to blonde, red or brunette. Seth's advice for going blonde: 'More lived-in blondes are of the moment. Warmer, playing into raw lifts and lower maintenance placement. When consulting with your colorist, mention root shadowing or base breaking. Depending on your natural level, the colorist will make the right choice.' (Image: Gene Juarez Salons & Spas)

Dylan Lynch of University Village added: 'Let's add meaning to the term 'raw lift' - raw lift is warm! Embracing natural undertones while enhancing richness and shine. The new Kerastase Chroma Absolu line has two miracle home care options salon guests love: an anti-red treatment for brunettes (Masque Vert Chroma Neutralisant) and a shine/smoothing product (Soin Acide Chroma Gloss) for all hair colors. The anti-red is on the darker side and adds richness to existing hair color.' (Image: Gene Juarez Salons & Spas)
Seth's advice for going red: 'The consistent theme of the season is choosing warm tones and hues, making all versions of red up for discussion. Also, anyone that can be blonde can be red. Finding the right tone is the magic of a great colorist. Red may also be transformative and impactful with a single process base color or simply glossing last season's highlights strawberry.' Seth's advice for going brunette: 'The mission of a great brunette is to be rich and glossy. Adding dimensional highlights can create visual interest and enhance the texture of a brunette. When scheduling color, it may help to book a partial balayage/highlight, giving your colorist time to add visual interest while maintaining an intense result.' (Image: Gene Juarez Salons & Spas)
