Snake venom, gold flakes and 5 other unique spa treatments around Seattle

Sometimes you want a spa experience that’s a little more EXTRA — beyond your regular Swedish massage or facial. So we curated a list of local and creative spa experiences to achieve rest and relaxation like you never thought possible! They'd also make truly memorable gifts.

Penelope and the Beauty Bar

The liquid surgery 'Red Carpet' treatment at Penelope and the Beauty Bar at the Fairmont Seattle uses some, let's just say unique, serums. The service starts with a dry brushing of the body and is followed by an application of a rich, warming balm with natural moisturizers. The body is then cocooned in a wrap to aid in absorption and rehydration, leaving skin silky-smooth and radiant. Simultaneously, guests receive a custom MBR facial with a liquid surgery booster and facial toning.

Two of the products used in the treatment are formulated with Syn-Ake, which is a synthetic snake venom ingredient. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And don't forget the gold flakes! MBR’s Cream Extraordinary is also used in the treatment and contains gold leaf flakes to help illuminate skin. This revolutionary treatment visibly reduces wrinkles, boosts collagen synthesis, replenishes moisture, and leaves skin with a radiant, youthful complexion. Added facial toning will give your skin immediate lift and contour.

New to the menu of services is the Medispa Treatment, Endospheres Therapy. This is exclusive to Penelope and the Beauty Bar in the Seattle area. Endospheres Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses micro-vibrations to tone the body, improve the overall quality of skin, and reduce the appearance of cellulite and fine lines. The treatment also improves lymphatic drainage and stimulates blood circulation. A series of sessions is recommended for optimal results.

Yuan Spa

With two locations, Bellevue and Kirkland, Yuan Spa just started offering Ultraceuticals facials. They are currently the only spa in the area offering this service in partnership with the brand, which is based out of Australia and is super popular with the Aussie beauty crowd. Performance treatments are available in different levels of strength and activity to ensure your skin receives the most customized and appropriate peels and masks to address your unique skincare concerns.

The Yuan Chinese Signature Massage is a unique blend of Chinese Tuina, Acupressure, Table Thai (where the therapist may get on the table for counterbalance stretching), Tapotement (rhythmic tapping) and Lomi Lomi massage. This uniquely therapeutic treatment is designed to both balance and energize your body working with the Chinese meridian lines of your body and centuries-old Asian techniques.
