Our wonderful Wednesday is coming to a close, and so is the little bit of warmth we've enjoyed this week. Our highs closed in on 60 degrees today, but we're about to take a big plunge before the month of March is over.

Thursday will be a transition day, with increasing clouds already forcing temperatures back down into the lower 50s around the Sound. The strong onshore flow will also make it feel much cooler, and we'll even see some initial pockets of mist and drizzle. We'll hope to keep the roof open at T-Mobile for the kick-off of our Mariners season, but be sure to bring a warm coat if you're heading into Sodo to root on the M's!

A strong front pulls in to finish up the month on Friday, and highs will drop back into the upper 40s as the precipitation takes over by early afternoon.

The first weekend of April will be chilly and unsettled. Widely scattered showers will alternate with sunbreaks, but highs will again struggle to make it out of the upper 40s on Saturday and Sunday. Some of the showers could be locally heavy, with pocket of hail or even more bursts of lowland snow in the mix. Thunder and lightning may pop up as well. In the Cascades, another foot or more of snow should tally up at the ski resorts, but that could also impact mountain travelers at times.
