Behind the Scenes of the fiercest fashion competition in the PNW

Seattle Refined has a front row seat to the biggest fashion competition in the Northwest. The Independent Designer Runway Show lets up-and-coming designers show off their collections at Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection on September 21, 2017. The winning designer walks away with $5,000 AND will have their looks displayed at Bellevue Square.

How cool is that?

This year, seven designers made the cut:

• Chany Venturini by Maria Venturini
• LOURDES é EVA by Nora Suárez
• Paloma Hurtado by Paloma Hurtado
• Poppyseed by Rebekah Adams

We had full access to the process leading up to the big show from the auditions to the check-ins this year - so we got to see the designers grow their collections literally from cloth pieces to full looks (check the gallery above for a look at the check-ins throughout the summer).

We also had former-Bachelorette-contestant-turned-fashion designer, Desiree Hartsock-Siegfried as our correspondent as the seven designers get guidance from top fashion industry experts along the way.

We have to tell you, we can't WAIT to see the collections that will come down the runway! Refined also checked in with the 2016 IDRS winner Devon Yan. He's working on some awesome stuff including a new collection that will be revealed at Bellevue Fashion Week.
