Chef Shota Nakajima to host dinner with fellow 'Top Chef' contestants

Whether it's been running his Capitol Hill restaurant, Taku, or appearing as a contestant on the current season of Bravo's "Top Chef," Seattle chef Shota Nakajima has certainly been busy.

Now, Nakajima is bringing a little bit of "Top Chef: Portland" to Edmonds. He'll be cooking at Cooking with Friends, a benefit dinner — joined by five of his fellow contestants — on Saturday, June 19, at the Edmonds Waterfront Center.

It'll be six courses, with each chef preparing a course and a canape — plus wine from Gilbert Cellars and beer. The chefs participating are:

  • Shota Nakajima
  • Gabe Erales
  • Brittanny Anderson
  • Roscoe Hall
  • Sara Hauman
  • Sasha Grumman

The dinner will benefit WeGotThisSeattle, a grassroots response to the coronavirus pandemic. Donated funds go toward placing orders at diverse Seattle restaurants used to provide boxed meals to frontline workers.

General admission is $350 per guest and includes appetizers, six-course dinner, beer, wine, taxes and gratuity. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $500, which also includes a private after-party with the chefs at a separate location.

Since this is an indoor event, proof of full COVID-vaccinations will be required at the door (can be the actual card or a photo on your phone). Full vaccination must have occurred two weeks prior to the dinner date of June 19.

Purchase tickets/find more information online.
