Mariners will open Hatback Bar & Grille this August across from T-Mobile Park

Sports fans will have a new favorite spot to meet on game days in Seattle. Hatback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley is coming this August.

The Seattle Mariners announced the opening of the new restaurant and taproom on Thursday, which will be located in the former Pyramid Brewery across from T-Mobile Park. M's fans will appreciate the color scheme of gold and royal blue. The name Hatback and its logo pay homage to Mariners icon Ken Griffey Jr. and his signature backwards ball cap.

"We wanted to create a place our entire community could enjoy, no matter the occasion," said Catie Griggs, the Seattle Mariners' president of business operations. "Hatback and Steelheads Alley will be the go-to destinations to visit, whether you're cheering on your favorite team, meeting friends for a drink, family for dinner or connecting with other fans before and after games."

Hatback Bar & Grille will have 20 TVs, indoor and outdoor seating, fit up to 150 people and will offer food including steak, burgers, pizza, tuna tartare and oysters.

Local, award-winning M├ętier Brewing Company will be the resident brewery at Steelheads Alley, offering craft beers, classic bar fare and specialty programming. A seasonal beer garden will feature food trucks and outdoor games.

Hatback and Steelheads Alley will be open regularly from Wednesday to Sunday. You can expect the new spot to be popular on game and event days when the beer garden is also open.
