Frelard Tamales is giving back with tamales, flowers and a whole lot of love

Located in the Fremont-Ballard area is a beloved restaurant known for its tasty and massive tamales.

Frelard Tamales serves up hot and fresh tamales made from a family recipe — and the obsession with them is real. Like many others right now, they've had to make changes to the way they run their business in order to fit these unprecedented times.

Not only are they still serving customers, but they're also supporting others by offering bouquets of flowers for $15 from local vendors with orders.

As much as we've seen restaurants change their business models, we've also seen them show support for frontline workers. Frelard Tamales is no different; if an order is going to a first responder or health care worker, they will add the flowers for free.

But they don't stop there — they are also giving out free tamales to anyone affected by COVID-19.

Tamales have always been a comfort food, but now the dish is bringing comfort to the community on a whole new level. And that's exactly the way they want it.
