Cocktail of the Week: Lavender Berry

Purple has always put Kelly Sparks of Queen Bee Mixology in her happy place — somewhere between the tranquility of blue and the boldness of red. So naturally, she turned the color into a cocktail! The Lavender Berry matches the energy of the color by striking a balance of the floral undertones with a bit of a kick.

  • 1/4 cup Blueberries
  • 2 oz. Gin
  • 1 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz. Lavender Simple Syrup
  • 1 Egg White

  1. Muddle blueberries in a mixing glass, then add gin and muddle again.
  2. Strain through a mesh sieve and discard fruit pulp.
  3. Pour the blueberry gin into a cocktail shaker and add other ingredients.
  4. Shake at least 30 seconds.
  5. Add ice to the cocktail shaker and shake again for another 30 seconds, then strain into a glass and enjoy!

Sure, a glass of wine or a beer is a nice way to unwind – but every now and then, you deserve a happy hour that's a little more...hmmm. What's the word? Refined! Kelly Sparks of Queen Bee Mixology is graciously sharing a new cocktail with us every week, just in time for Happy Hour.
