The 7 Best Babymoon Destinations for PNW couples

Expecting a new addition to your family? Before the bundle of joy arrives, plan one last hurrah with a relaxing or adventurous babymoon. Whether you prefer a quick drive or a direct flight, Seattle is an easy access point to rustic PNW getaways as well as tropical retreats.

Here are seven babymoon offerings that will allow you to reconnect as a couple before welcoming your new travel partner to the family.

Salish Lodge & Spa, Snoqualmie, WA
For a classic PNW experience, visit Salish Lodge & Spa, just a 30 minute drive from Seattle. Experience luxury and romance with each room featuring a gas fireplace and spa-like showers or oversized soaking tubs. Book the Babymoon Package, which includes in-room rose petals and sparkling cider, a special pregnancy pillow for use during your stay, two 50-minute Salish Signature spa treatments (book the Mother-To-Be or these other maternity safe options), $50 dining credit and a special baby gift. While in the area explore downtown Snoqualmie with cute boutiques and manageable walking paths. Just 15 minutes away experience Twin Falls, complete with a leisurely hike.

The Andaz, Maui, HI
For babymooners looking to go all out, take the direct flight (around 6 hours) to Maui and experience pure luxury at The Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort. Don’t be surprised to see lots of expectant mamas around the resort, it’s a popular place for babymooners and it’s easy to see why. Hawaii is the ideal location for a tropical getaway, easily accessible from the west coast. Book your stay with promo code “ANDAZBABY” and for an additional $50 receive a special amenity to satisfy pregnancy cravings, a gift for the newest addition to your family, a credit for two mocktails (redeemable pool-side or at Ka’ana Kitchen) and 10% off any 60 or 90 minute prenatal massage or apothecary blending service. While in Maui, sign up for the special lu’au experience hosted at the Andaz, or journey off the resort and explore the famous Road to Hana. The all-day driving and hiking experience is ideal for expectant couples as you can opt to take the easier hikes and spend the rest of the day driving through the beautiful scenery, much of it viewable right from your car. Make sure to cool off with delicious shave ice at Ululani’s Shave Ice; with one location just a quick drive from The Andaz.

Kimpton Riverplace, Portland, OR
Less than 3 hours away by car, Portland is the perfect location for a city exploration babymoon. Stay at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel, featuring tons of amenities and programing that cater to expecting couples, including in-room prenatal massages. The hotel is close to downtown while maintaining a peaceful urban lodge feel. The property is located on the west bank of the Willamette River, offering beautiful water views and miles of walking paths to keep the body moving. If you time your visit right, you may have the opportunity to do moon gazing during your babymoon with Super Moons on February 19 and March 2. RiverPlace has you covered with a cozy viewing set up on the second-story courtyard complete with blankets, tents, s’mores and hot cider. Kimptons are known for being incredibly dog friendly, so include your furry friend in your Portland babymoon. Be sure to make a nightly stop at the evening social hour featuring treats and beverages (alcoholic / nonalcoholic available). For venturing off-site, stroll along quant NW 23rd Avenue, full of boutiques and restaurants (and Salt & Straw for ice cream cravings!). For achy pregnancy bodies, stop into The Float Shoppe, a place to relax and restore. Here you can totally let go while floating in warm saltwater, indulge in a massage (the shop offers special tables for pregnant guests for ultimate comfort) or experience acupuncture. Aim to book your treatments at least one week in advance.

Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa, Pacific City, OR
For a longer road trip, but still under 5 hours, journey to Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa. The mom-to-be can disconnect at the Tidepools Spa & Wellness Center, enjoying the Nurtured Mama-to-Be massage, designed to ease the stress and strains of pregnancy. To work up a sweat during your getaway, personal trainers on-site will work one-on-one with guests and can create a custom workout. Guests can also sign up for group fitness classes. To enjoy the great outdoors, there are a number of low-impact options, like hikes and tidepool explorations (learn more at Make Your Own Adventure). And for guests experiencing pregnancy cravings (or for partners experiencing sympathy cravings), there’s a gourmet pantry available on each floor featuring products from Tillamook, Albina Nuts, Alma Chocolate, Betty Lou’s and more. Dine on-site at ocean-to-table Meridian Restaurant and Bar or head out and visit nearby Pelican Brewing’s flagship pub or Stimulus Coffee + Bakery across the street.

The Inn at 5th, Eugene, OR
For another road trip option, head five hours south of Seattle and visit Eugene, Oregon, the gateway to the Southern Willamette Valley. Sure, you might not be able to enjoy the famous pinots that the area is known for, but you can take a romantic stroll along the Willamette River, enjoy the waterfalls and covered bridges and can partake is short, low impact hiking. Stay at the Inn at the 5th, a boutique hotel conveniently connected to a market hall full of great shopping, local restaurants, an artisan bakery and speciality food emporium (again with those pregnancy cravings!). Make a spa appointment at Gervais Salon & Spa, located at the Inn and book the 60-minute maternity massage.

Stein-Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley, Park City, UT
For a babymoon in the mountains, take the two-hour nonstop flight to Salt Lake City and the short 45 minute drive to Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star rated spa and hotel. Deer Valley is the ideal mountain option as its elevation is slightly lower than many other mountain destinations. With skiing likely off the table, check out cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or relax at the spa. The Spa at Stein Eriksen offers treatments specifically tailored to expectant mothers, like the Deserving Mother’s Massage, plus low impact workouts. And if the non-pregnant half of the couple chooses to hit the slopes, Stein Eriksen has ski-in/ski-out access to the Deer Valley slopes and which will makes a midday meet up for lunch at Troll Hallen Lounge easy. Make sure to visit Historic Park City Main Street for endless restaurant and shopping options.

Tigh-Na-Mara, Vancouver Island, BC
And finally, leave the US and experience rustic charm at Tigh-Na-Mara on Vancouver Island, right under a 6 hour drive from Seattle. The resort includes The Grotto Spa, voted the #1 spa in Canada. Choose from forested ocean views, spa bungalows or even pet friendly cottages for your stay. If you’re using your babymoon to power down, book the Unplug Package, offering 2 or more nights accommodation and a $100 resort credit and the flexibility to choose what best fits your needs. Visit the spa for the Expectant Mother’s Massage, explore the wellness center, the indoor pool, or head outdoors for the warmest ocean swimming in Canada.
