A Look Inside Portland's Most Peculiar Museum

Welcome to The Freakybuttrue Peculiarium and Museum, Portland's home for all things peculiar, creepy and crawly.

"It's fun, it's funny, it's gross" says co-owner Lisa Freeman.

The Peculiarium is part oddity museum, part art gallery, part gift shop and totally bizarre. Lisa says visitors love the full-scale ten foot tall "bigfoot" and interactive alien autopsy display. Take the tour and among the friendly faces you'll find a genuine vampire hunting kit, a horrifying haunted doll house, a "buried alive" simulator and the opportunity to dine on insects.

I got a chance to taste a few dried maggots and they taste just like rice puffs... with legs.
