LEAVENWORTH, Wash. - Leavenworth’s Oktoberfest has been cancelled for the second year in a row.
Organizers of the festival, which is held every year in Washington’s famous Bavarian town, announced the cancellation on their website Tuesday.
In the announcement, organizers said because of COVID-19 restrictions on entertainment, food, dancing, and singing they have decided to cancel the festival for 2021.
They said they felt like anything less than an authentic Oktoberfest celebration would be a disservice to their loyal attendees.
Leavenworth also cancelled its 2020 Oktoberfest and 2020 Village of Lights celebration because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
