Nordstrom's Designer Preview brings high-end fashion to Seattle

The Nordstrom Designer Preview Fashion Show last night (July 28) SLAYED. First off, everyone was dressed to the nines. The people watching was 'almost' as good as the actual fashion show. This being my first ever designer preview, I felt like a small town girl in the big city! I walk into a sea of racks filled with designer gems, beautiful people and an unlimited supply of champagne. Being one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the year, needless to say I had a ball. The designers, like Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana and Marchesa (just to name a few) really showed off. I'm officially ready for summer to be over so I can hop on board with all the latest fall trends (ok, maybe we can enjoy summer a bit longer). Here's a roundup of the top trends for fall:

Classic Rock: The runway was filled with motto jackets, studs and sparkle. Think golden-era MTV. Looks were polished off with a dark lip, nearly black. The boutique was filled with shoes and purses covered in metal studs. There were knee length skirts and tight black pants paired with just the right amount of 'girly'. And the go-to black everything is still a thing, its a classic look that won't be going anywhere anytime soon (or ever).

Touchy Feely: Let it flow. There were models wearing perfectly tailored dresses with whimsical capes and plunging neck-lines. Think romantic and soft, with nude, black and red being the standout colors. Metallic accessories in copious amounts (the more bling the better).

Menswear for Ladies: Over-sized blazers, knits, denim, sweaters , bomber jackets and platform sneakers. Slinky-sheer textiles in gold, black and animal print stood out. The models were sporting ties with fitted button up shirts, paired with a knee length skirt or fitted slacks. And I'm not talking Diane Keaton, it was way cooler than that.

Sparkle and Shine: OMG you guys, the evening wear was A-MAZ-ING. So much sparkle and beading! Most of the fancy dresses were either knee or floor length. Lots of shear elements with an unbelievable amount of detail. Gems and embroidery galore. Now I just need an excuse to get dressed up! And the sparkle isn't just for a night out, there were glitter heels with a chunky heel that were to die for paired with casual dresses.

Make it POP: 3-D floral's were seriously around every corner. From flowers that literally look like a broach (but they are sewn in) on Dolce & Gabbana's flawless dresses to the unlimited amount of 3-D accessories - the wearable art literally pops out. Another thing about the bags, I noticed a trend in micro-bags (basically a big bag with a mini bag attached).

Other trends I noticed, FUR. Fur scarves, coats and even fur trim on sleeves. Most of the models had their hair pulled back in low pigtail buns, super cute. And men I haven't forgotten about you. The menswear for fall is all about playful prints, military style embroidery patches and bomber jackets.
