Malaysia's former Food Ambassador lives in the PNW, and taught us to cook

One of the best things about working at Seattle Refined is getting to taste dishes from all over the globe. And imagine our surprise when we discovered Malaysia’s Food Ambassador lives right here in the PNW!

Christina Arokiasamy has just written a new cook book called "The Malaysian Kitchen", which celebrates the cuisine of her home country, and she invited us into her home kitchen for a cooking lesson.

Arokiasamy grew up in Malaysia surrounded by food. Her family has been involved in the spice trade for generations and as a young girl, she used to help her mother prepare spices for sale.

While she gave us a ton of options for dishes to cook, we decided to dive into making empanadas - also known to as curry puffs. And they did not disappoint.
