Let's Go Places: Carving powder at Crystal Mountain

Winter is still going strong on the peaks of the Pacific Northwest, and the mountains are beckoning.

With three lodges, restaurants with spectacular views, lessons for beginners, and space for several snow activities, Crystal Mountain is your destination for a day on the slopes as well as a winter weekend getaway.

You can count on the 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro to take you to Crystal Mountain and back because the 4Runner takes you where other vehicles simply can't go.

Built with TRD strength and reliability

The history of Toyota Racing Development (TRD) runs as deep as the back-country snow. The 4Runner TRD Pro was designed to perform in the toughest conditions. To do that, the 2020 model is equipped with TRD-tuned FOX shocks and a TRD-tuned suspension, TRD-engineered alloy wheels, and Nitto Terra Grappler All-terrain tires.

The 4Runner TRD Pro has a 1/4-inch-thick aluminum front skid plate to protect the undercarriage, and it boasts a unique Toyota Heritage-inspired front grille to let everyone know your vehicle is ready to tackle challenges head on. This 270-horsepower machine leaves no doubt about that.

Carve your own path, even if it's not visible

From the moment you start driving, the 4Runner TRD Pro keeps you stable with the Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) system. When this is enabled, the brakes are automatically applied to wheels that lose traction at any time. Then the system adds power to the tires that do have traction so you can continue moving on slippery roads.

In the 4Runner TRD Pro, you'll get standard overhead dials for two driving features that will enhance your control on different terrain. Multi-Terrain Select gives you four modes that adjust the wheelspin, engine throttle and braking pressure depending on the road texture. Crawl Control takes over the throttle and the brakes when you're traveling slowly on tough trails, allowing you to focus on steering.

Whenever you find yourself on a steep incline, the standard Hill Start Assist ensures you won't fall backward as you switch from the brake to the gas pedal.

As if that's not enough, the 4Runner TRD Pro is equipped with the standard Toyota Safety Senseā„¢ P (TSS-P) active safety package to keep you and your fellow skiers safe on the ride up and down the mountain. This advanced precautionary safety system combines the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control to heighten your awareness on the road.

Travel in comfortable style

There's no better way to get into the zone than jamming to your favorite tunes. You can control the music, navigation and more from the 8-inch high-resolution screen on the dashboard. It's compatible with Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay so you're connected no matter whose device you're using.

After you're done on the slopes, you can defrost yourself with the cozy SofTex-trimmed heated front seats. Dual zone auto climate control allows you to change the temperature on one side without affecting the other side, so you can keep defrosting if other people warm up faster.

All-weather floor liners come standard on the 4Runner TRD Pro, so don't worry about where you've explored because the floors are literally covered.

The only thing left for you to do is to pack for your next ski trip. The 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, starting at $49,865 MSRP, takes care of the rest.
