One of our favorite parts of fall - along with scarves, jackets and Pumpkin Spice Lattes - is curling up with a great book on a cold day. But if you're like us, it can be so incredibly hard to find a great book to read. Just looking at the bestsellers list doesn't do it (the "50 Shades of Grey" books have been on there for ages), and recommendations from Mom aren't always on point (sorry Mom, love you).
Which is why book clubs are so amazing. Not only does it keep you reading regularly, but it's also an amazing was to discover new books and stay social. With all this in mind, we are starting our very own Seattle Refined Book Club. Every month we'll decide on a book to read, and then throughout the month we'll have weekly check-ins with page goals, exclusive content, author interviews and the chance to be part of the on-camera discussions for our TV show.
If you're reading this, that means we have started! Our first book is "Eligible" by Curtis Sittenfeld, a modern retelling of Jane Austin’s "Pride and Prejudice" that was included in the New York Times Book Review's Most Anticipated Books of 2016 roundup.
Grab a copy and get to reading! We know we certainly are. Our discussion group once everyone is done reading will air on October 4th, so you have a little less than a month to finish the book. Interested in joining our on-camera discussion? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
