Diamonds: A City’s Best Friend

Seattle is known for being a hip and trendy place, and now the city has the Diamonds to prove it! The Seattle area has added not one, not two, not three, but FOUR new AAA Four Diamond hotels to their list of elite properties. In total, Washington State has 35 AAA Four Diamond properties. It’s no wonder that Seattle has become a top-10 destination for travelers in the past year.

Hot off the presses, AAA just released their annual list of Four and Five Diamond properties, which are distinguished by an upscale, refined atmosphere, exceptional service and extensive amenities. The Seattle area boasts one AAA Five Diamond restaurant (the Herbfarm – Woodinville) and 26 total AAA Four Diamond properties, including these four new additions for 2018:

W Bellevue was designed to evoke the feel of a Bellevue weekend lake house for the chic, modern traveler. Design elements subtly pay homage to the lake house lifestyle, and the hotel is filled with unique comforts: a dual indoor/outdoor lounge featuring casual rope swing seating around large fireplaces, a library full of old-style games and fun reads, and a DJ to mix tunes all weekend long. The guest rooms expand on the lake house feel with dock-style lamps, buoy-inspired headboards, and stand-alone glass showers reminiscent of dockside wash areas. After enjoying delicious bites at nearby farm-to-table and food-truck-style restaurants, you can head downstairs for a craft cocktail at the W Bellevue’s own speakeasy. This polished hotel feels both ultra-hip and down-to-earth at the same time, offering a true urban retreat in the heart of Bellevue.

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport is a brand-new hotel located at the southern tip of Lake Washington in Renton. This location mixes nature and suburban comfort, set in between the picturesque Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park (complete with waterfront trails and a play area) and The Landing in Renton (home to a movie theater, restaurants and shops). The hotel makes the most of their lakefront location with stunning event spaces, multiple outdoor patios and a dramatic two-story view of Lake Washington that greets visitors in the main lobby.

Inn at the Market has recently undergone a major renovation, making the views inside the hotel just as beautiful as the views outside. Located steps from the main Pike Place Market entrance, this wonderful boutique hotel is all about the location. Wake up to stunning views of ferries crossing Elliot Bay, then spend your day taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of the historic market and Post Alley. Be sure to also check out the hotel’s beautiful artwork and their rooftop patio, which features food service and yet more charming waterfront scenery.

Motif Seattle has also recently undergone a full top-to-bottom renovation. This contemporary space, located just blocks from the Convention Center, Westlake Center and Pacific Place, puts the city at your fingertips. Their guest rooms and corridors “wow” visitors with colors and materials inspired by the Pacific Northwest, and they were one of the first hotels in Seattle to feature a huge outdoor rooftop patio in the heart of downtown.

AAA’s professionally-trained inspectors have been evaluating properties across the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean for more than 80 years using the AAA Diamond rating system. If you’re heading out of town soon and are looking for an amazing lodging experience, check out AAA’s Four and Five Diamond properties.
