This small urban infill project received a 2014 Gold Medal for it’s successful design. This Five Built Green 4 Star detached single family home is tucked off the street with a layout similar to an older cottage cluster. A pedestrian pathway and lush landscaping contrast nicely with the contemporary architecture. The Master bedroom is located on the ground floor and the custom finishes create a contemplative feel. Heated concrete floors keep the lower level comfortable. The second level is a lively place for enjoying great meals with an open plan kitchen and dining room. Customized metal stair rail details and the redwood wall invite one to retreat to the top floor for relaxation and views. This end unit was custom designed to take advantage of territorial views across Rainier Valley to Beacon Hill. (Image: Joshua Lewis / Seattle Refined)
