Did you make some progress on your travel bucket list this year? Maybe there was a February trip to Maui for some much-needed Vitamin D; maybe a crazy Bachelorette weekend in Vegas (it’s ok, we won’t ask for details); maybe a trip to Reykjavik to get the perfect Blue Lagoon candid for Instagram. Wherever your travels took you, we’re willing to bet that you stayed in some awesome hotels along the way – and that you’ve acquired a collection of hotel toiletry items.
Now you can turn that perfect vacation into a great donation by cleaning out your bathroom drawers and donating those new, unused toiletry items to AAA’s Soap for Hope program. Soap for Hope is AAA’s annual donation drive that collects personal hygiene items and redistributes them within your local community. Over the past nine years, they’ve collected more than 850,000 items, which annually benefit 24 charities throughout Washington.
Want to help out your neighbors in need? Just scan your bathroom cabinets and gather unused toiletries from your last vacation, freebies from the dentist’s office or a few extra items from a bulk warehouse purchase. Donations of new, full- and travel-size personal hygiene items, such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, razors and feminine hygiene products, are accepted at all Washington AAA stores through the end of the year.
