Two big celebs announce upcoming visits to Seattle

This week two completely different kinds of celebrities announced their plans to visit Seattle in the coming months: George Takei and Oprah Winfrey.

Takei will be leading this year's Seattle Pride parade as Celebrity Grand Marshall. While best known for playing Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek series, Takei is also an outspoken supporter of human rights and LGBT issues around the world. Mashable has reported that he is the most influential person on Facebook, with more than 6.4 million likes.

Seattle Pride Parade is Sunday, June 29 at 11AM on 4th Avenue downtown Seattle.

Winfrey is taking her show on the road, with "The Life You Want" weekend tour this fall. Seattle is one of the eight cities she will be visiting along with Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert, pastor Rob Bell and guru Deepak Chopra.

The tour will be November 7-8 at the Key Arena in Seattle, and include keynote speeches by Winfrey and her guests, as well as group activities she's picked out for the attendees.
