Tito’s Vodka is all about spirit—the spirit of saving lives, that is

Seattleites shook up their weekend plans by sipping summer cocktails for a good cause. On Saturday, August 25, Tito’s Handmade Vodka took a stand (quite literally) to help find a cure for breast cancer at Seattle’s Standup for the Cure.

This festival-style event took place at Lake Sammamish State Park and included stand-up paddle boarding, yoga, relay races, instructor-led demos, a silent auction, lunch, and of course, Happy Hour with Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails. The best part? All of the proceeds benefitted Susan G. Komen Puget Sound, the largest private funder of mammograms for low-income and uninsured woman in Washington State.

In 2016, Susan G. Komen Puget Sound provided a total of 35,923 breast cancer screenings and services to women in Western Washington. And in the last 24 years, this organization has invested more than $30 million (!!!) in local nonprofit, tribal and government agencies that provide breast health and breast cancer services to residents living in the 16-county service area. We’ll cheers to that.

Mammograms are the most effective screening tool to find breast cancer in women. And if you’d been putting yours off (we know, we know – they’re not pleasant), Seattle Cancer Care Alliance had their mammogram van on-site at Standup for the Cure.

After a mammogram, guests could toast to good health and finding a cure with a refreshing Tito’s Handmade Vodka summer concoction. The Seattle Refined team met up with expert bartenders at Suite Restaurant and Lounge in Bellevue this week to sip some Tito’s Handmade Vodka and get a taste for the drinks at Standup for the Cure—and we were not disappointed. The team’s favorite? The Lavender Lemon Drop, made with Tito’s, Triplesec, simple syrup, and fresh lemon, served in a sugar-rimmed glass and a sprig of lavender.

Bottoms up, charitable folks in Seattle! Or should we say, paddles up?!
