I want to preface this by saying that we think all of Washington is a good place to raise a family, because Washington is the best of all 50 states, DUH.
But Wallethub went a few steps further and conducted a study to find which were the best places specifically to raise a family in the state. As us PNWer's already know, Washington is all-around a great place to live considering that there's a healthy job market, high educational attainment, and a natural environment that promotes an active lifestyle. Not to mention, Washingtonians earn the 12th highest per-capita personal income in the U.S. and experienced the fourth highest growth in income between 2015 and 2016.
But! They went ahead and rated the Top 111 of Washington's biggest cities to find which were the best to raise a family anyways.
Since 111 is a whooooole lot to list out, here are the Top 10:
- West Richland
- Bainbridge Island
- Maple Valley
- New Castle
What do you think? A quick poll around our office shows that none of us were raised in these cities and we think we did ok so...take this with a grain of salt. If you want the full 111 cities ranked, click to Wallethub's study online.
