Friday, August 23

Nordic Sol. Head on over to the National Nordic Museum’s new summer cultural showcase- Nordic Sól! "With a cool focus on Arctic vendors, crafts, music, and culture, this collaboration of polar artisans and like-minded local businesses will feature a series of thoughtfully curated events, including an Arctic-themed Pecha Kucha, Friday night concert featuring the Circumpolar Hip Hop Collab, and a Saturday evening Arctic Adventure of modern fashion, traditional foods, and aquavit garden!" Sounds fuuuun!

Evergreen State Fair. August fairs - the signal to the end of the summer. Hang out with some farm animals, watch pigs race, eat fair food, and catch a show at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. The fair runs through the 2nd of September.

Washington State Garlic Festival. So you like garlic? Washington State Garlic Fest features garlic cuisine, beer & wine, vendors, live music, kids’ activities, and a flea market in Chehalis.

Wildnights. Woodland Park Zoo will stay open late for “magical encounters with animals, ambassador animal presentations, animal keeper talks, storytelling, and discovery stations with cool biofacts and nature-inspired activities” plus food and drinks for sale on Wildnights.

West Seattle Beer & Music Festival. West Seattle Beer & Music Festival is a unique 20 Brewers 40+ beer & spirits tasting event at the Alki Masonic Center in the heart of West Seattle community on August 23rd and August 24th 2019. The goal is to "celebrate craft beers, creative spirits, awesome food and groovy music while creating a unique experience for both the brewers, distillers and attendees alike while raising dollars and awareness for an important charity West Seattle Food Bank."

Saturday, August 24

Belltown Crush Block Party. Support Plymouth’s mission to end homelessness during a fun Saturday afternoon with friends and neighbors at our annual beer and wine festival. There will be a wine and beer garden, a grape stomping competition, live music, and noshes from local eateries to celebrate the final stretch of summer! General admission is $25. Admission includes ten drink tickets for cider, wine, and beer tastings.

Stand Up for the Cure. Join the KOMO family for a day of summer fun, food, and live music at Stand Up for the Cure August 24 at Lake Sammamish State Park. Have a blast while making an impact that could save lives. Watch or join in paddle board races, yoga on paddle boards and raise funds for Komen Puget Sound. Movies at the Mural. Watch Black Panther on a 40-foot screen at Movies at the Mural on the lawn at Mural Amphitheater, with captions. Bring low-back chairs, blankets, or bean bags!

Sunday, August 25

Free National Park Day. It's the National Park Service 102nd Birthday, so head to any Washington State park for free without a Discovery Pass. On State Parks Free Days, you can picnic and play at any of the 140 Washington State Parks for free.

Seattle Sambathon. Dance 4 miles around Seward Park to the beat of live drums at Seattle SambaThon, followed by a traditional Brazilian meal. Costume and drums optional!
