The Weekend Report: What's Cookin'

Welcome to the Weekend Report - where we tell you what's up in Seattle this weekend, the things you definitely don't want to miss. Why should we have all the fun at these events? Most of the things we are previewing here, we will be at - so if you see us say hi! We're guaranteed to miss some, so definitely email us if there is something wonderful we need to know about!

...kidding. Kind of. There are a ton of events going on this weekend (see below), but we have a feeling a ton of them will be cancelled due to this weather. So make sure to call ahead, check their website and social media channels before you venture outside. Stay warm and safe!

Friday, February 8

Hearts & Wine. This event is described as "an elegant evening of sampling wine, appetizers, and desserts, with live jazz and an auction of wines and travel adventures." Sounds like a good way start Valentine's Day celebrations!

Kirkland Wine Walk. Brave the cold weather and get your local wine on and visit several different shops during the Kirkland Wine Walk, which begins at the Heathman Hotel!

Northwest Symphony Orchestra: Valentine's Concert. If you are a music lover and in the mood for romantic music, head to Burien to enjoy this lovely evening of music by Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, Howard Hanson, and Lauren Wells at Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

J'Adore. You know how we love a good sexy burlesque show! J'Adore features The Atomic Bombshells performing J’Adore, a burlesque, drag, and dance spectacular that celebrates romance with "humor and style."

Children's Film Festival Seattle. 'Tis the season for all things movies! Get the kids involved in film at the Children's Film Festival in Seattle. See the best in international cinema for children ages 2 to 12 at the Northwest Film Forum.

Lunar New Year Celebration (Seattle). Join in the Lunar New Year Celebrations in the International District! Festivities include lion and dragon dances, drumming, Hawaiian & Thai dancing, a children’s parade, a costume contest, arts & crafts, and $3 food items.

Cupid's Undie Run. Time to strip down to your under garments and hit the pavement! The Cupid Undie Run is back and better than ever! Run through the streets without pants at 2 p.m. to support charity in Cupid’s Undie Run, with a party before and after at Ballroom in Fremont.

Venice is Sinking Masquerade Ball. Dust of that mask and wear it to Seattle's very own Venetian style masquerade ball. Be taken back in time to the palazzo in Saint Marc's Square, to majestic Venetian palaces along the Grand Canal. Enjoy music, entertainers, classic costumes, dessert, and a no-host bar.

The Lunar New Year (Bellevue). Another Lunar New Year celebration for ya, just on the east side! This Lunar New Year event will have music, dance, crafts, martial arts, and food sampling in the Center Court at Bellevue Square.

Shoreline Short Short Film Festival. This short film festival will screen a selection of films that are 3 to 10 minutes long and made by local emerging and developing filmmaker. You can grab a bite to eat and park for free at Shoreline Community College Theatre.

Winter Sip & Stroll. This wine event is in Gig Harbor and will allow you to visit 15 shops on the waterfront pouring wine, craft beer, spirits, or cider on the Winter Sip & Stroll, with some serving appetizers! How fun!

Wine on the Rock: Wine & Chocolate. There seems to be a lot of wine and chocolate events happening right now, eh?! This one is on Bainbridge Island and will explore five of the seven Bainbridge Island wineries for wines paired with local chocolates. This event runs on both Saturday and Sunday!

Sunday, February 10

Pike Chocofest. Head down to Pike Place to enjoy wine, spirits, cider, and beer that has been paired with chocolate, artisan cheese, savory food, dessert, and music. Now that's a party!

Pin-Ups on Tour. Head over to Fremont to enjoy a retro variety show! Pin-Ups on Tour recreates a Hollywood canteen of the 1940s with dancing showgirls, comedy, variety acts, and singing.

Food Truck Round-Up XXVI. Join the Fremont Market for their Food Truck Round-Up! This happens every second Sunday of every month where you can have SO MANY food trucks all at your finger tips.
