Welcome to the Weekend Report - where we tell you what's up in Seattle this weekend, the things you definitely don't want to miss. Why should we have all the fun at these events? Most of the things we are previewing here, we will be at - so if you see us say hi! We're guaranteed to miss some, so definitely email us if there is something wonderful we need to know about.

Friday, January 10

Monster Jam. It's time for Monster Jam! Watch Monster trucks do some tricks and race around the tracks at the Tacoma Dome. This event will run through Sunday and drivers include EarthShakers, El Toro Loco, Grave Digger, Megalodon, Monster Mutt, Scooby-Doo, Soldier Fortune Black Ops and Zombie. On Saturday you can join the Pit Party which gives you the chance to meet the drivers!

Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink. Bellevue's Downtown Ice Rink is back! The winter wonderland is presented by Symetra and is in it's 23rd year. Skate on 9,000 square feet of real ice all under a covered rink for any-weather skating. There's a heated viewing area, on-site concessions, and a series of special events throughout the holiday season.

Katie Kuffel in the Fireside Room. Head to Hotel Sorrento for some "tongue-in-cheek" music from Katie Kuffel. Katie is a "Seattle-based musician smashing the piano in a manner that's not quite blues, not quite folk, and not quite like anything you've heard before. With songwriting that is both innovative and thoughtful, she explores community, feminism and her personal experiences as an advocate against sexism and violence, with contemporary sounds that supports turbulent and poetic lyrics."

Moonlight Low Tide Walk. Head on out to Vashon Island for this epic Moonlight Low Tide Walk! If you are fan of sealife, this will definitely be a treat for you! Be sure to bring a flashlight, waterproof footwear and weather appropriate clothing. Park at the North End Ferry Commuter parking lot and follow the luminaries down to the beach. there will be naturalists on he beach helping folks identify and spot all the wonders beneath the waves and sand. This is a wonderful family-friendly event!

Saturday, January 11

That's Impossible Presents. Get ready for an evening that "will blow your mind as 'That's Impossible Presents' brings mesmerizing and hilarious magicians on the stage and to your table. This intimate, cabaret-style magic show at DeLancey's on 3rd in Renton has to be seen to be believed. Join the fun and experience the impossible at this magical showcase."

80s Video Dance Attack. Portland's longest-running weekly dance party is making a special appearance at the Spanish Ballroom at the McMenamins Elks Temple in Tacoma, WA on Saturday, January 11th! Get dressed up in your best '80s outfit and dance to the hits as we project music videos from MTV's greatest era onto giant video screens with a massive sound & light show.

Hot Toddy Bar Crawl. In honor of National Hot Toddy Day coming up on Saturday, January 11th, Aberfeldy Scotch Whisky has partnered with local Seattle bars to host a Hot Toddy Bar Crawl from 1-5pm PT. Entry for the bar crawl is free and open to the public. The crawl will be starting at Rob Roy at 1pm, and will finish at Liberty Bar at 5pm, with stops along the way. Each participating bar will be offering discounts and deals on specialty Hot Toddies, and crawlers will receive a map of the full Hot Toddy journey upon their arrival at Rob Roy.
