I'm sure you've heard of Crossfit, Barre, Yoga, and all the specialty gyms out there. I've pretty much tried them all and nothing really stuck for me or had the desired effectsuntil now. Orangetheory had me signing up for a membership after my first complimentary class.

I tend to have the attention span of a toddler so I find it extremely useful to throw in so much variety. Also, I find myself working harder at each activity because I know it's not going to last very long!
The "orange zone" as they call it, creates something called the post-exercise oxygen consumption, (or EPOC) effect that has you not only burning a crazy amount of calories during the class, but boosts your metabolism and has you continuing to burn fat afterwards.
Where some other workouts have you competing against others, the beauty of this one is you compete with yourself - seeing fast improvements just after a few classes. The heart rate monitor that's worn during the workout projects color coded percentages on the screens overhead so you know where you need to be and how to adjust, making you work as hard as you need to in order to reach YOUR goals and improve YOUR fitness. Everyone from elite athletes to couch potatoes alike can come have a great workout with encouraging people. Not to mention they play loud awesome tunes to pump you up to go hard for that last sprint.
I have done long distance running the past few years and after especially long runs, I'd find myself being drained and wanting to just binge watch tv all day. Every time I leave OrangeTheory, I feel extremely energized and that feeling lasts throughout the entire day. With the constant full body workout, you don't just lean out but you get so much stronger!
I've been going to the local Queen Anne location 2-3 times a week for almost two months now and I've noticed a huge difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit. I've since cancelled the membership to the gym I used to go to that had me wandering around and guessing my way through a workout. We'll see once swimsuit season is gone, if my motivation will be the same, but I know the workout will still be amazing!
