When it comes to Astrology, are you a skeptic or a believer?
I'm a believer. BIG TIME.
One *fateful* afternoon, my colleague Malia (Capricorn sun sign) sent out a calendar invite simply saying "AstroTwins." For someone who isn't obsessed with astrology, this might not raise any eyebrows or heart rates, but when I saw it I thought - could it be?
Let me back up a bit here. Ever since I can remember, I've taken a strong fascination to astrology. Once I was a young lass reading a newspaper on an airplane and I remember seeing "Horoscope Forecast" and asking my mom why my birth date fit under this elusive word "Taurus." As my poor mother attempted to explain to my young mind what astrology was - I was hooked.
Cracking a newspaper open and having someone else TELL you what to expect for the next day, week, month, heck - year? I'M ON BOARD. Nobody fears the unknown like a Taurus.
Fast forward to my college years when I found AstroStyle, the creative brainchild of twin sisters Ophira and Tali Edut, two gorgeous blonde women (both Sagittarius, obviously) who wrote amazing horoscopes both online and in book form. I was, coincidentally at the time, writing horoscopes for my college newspaper (the patterns in this story are mad, aren't they?) and used their clever and insightful information to create my own horoscopes. I promise I didn't plagiarize, gals!
The AstroTwins have gained incredible notoriety over the years, writing horoscopes for Elle Magazine, Refinery29, publishing several books, growing their Instagram following to nearly 80,000, reading for stars like Beyonce, Karlie Kloss, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Emma Roberts, Elizabeth Gilbert (the list goes on), all while running their fabulous website, AstroStyle. What began as a passion and interest for astrology has turned into an incredible empire that can only be described as mega.
To this day, to this VERY DAY, I check my horoscope from the AstroTwins. Their writing style encompasses the magic of the stars with a major modern twist. It's like they are speaking directly to my millennial heart, while staying true to this ancient and fascinating practice of the stars (did I mention astrology is 5,000 years old?!)
Okay, NOW. Back to the beginning of this story, where Malia put "AstroTwins" on my calendar (are you still with me?)
Turns out, the stars had aligned. The universe conspired to get me FACE-TO-FACE with one of the AstroTwins herself, Tali, to do an in-depth reading of both my and Malia's birth charts. And you think manifestation isn't real?! Turns out Tali Edut, who is originally from Detroit, currently resides in Seattle with her husband and wiener dog and the rest is history. This is called the long game folks... Rome wasn't built in a day!
Tali nailed both mine and Malia's birth charts. There were things she said about our personal lives and cycles we were both in that only we could know about. Malia is transitioning into a very fun time in her life where the focus is shifting from everyone around her to herself - to listen to more music, to dance, to paint! Where my chart said it's time to let go of old habits and constraints.
