This weekend is going to be full of sunshine and online events. We know you want to get outside (just keep your distance), but if you’re feeling lowkey or want to get involved with your community from afar, tune in to these creative online events put on by some PNW favorites:
Behind the Seams: Zoom In on the Details
Being stuck in sweats all day doesn't mean you need to avoid fashion entirely. This Friday, fashion lovers, history buffs and everyone in between can get an up-close look at the Museum of History & Industry's textile collection with Behind the Seams: Zoom In on the Details.
Take a (virtual) trip to the MOHAI's vaults with the curator of collections, Clara Berg, in this free webinar. She'll share her favorite details, and give viewers unique insights into the pieces. You need to register ahead of time, so get on it!
- 5 p.m. Friday, May 8: Behind the Seams: Zoom In on the Details
The Great Burien Baking Challenge
If you're a fan of The Great British Baking Show, this close-to-home version may be your cup of tea. Every week, The Great Burien Baking Challenge hosts a weekly virtual bake-off complete with a different theme, a judge and a triumphant "Star Baker."
The challenge runs Saturday through Wednesday, with judging taking place on Thursday and a winner crowned on Friday. To qualify for "Star Baker," you'll need to submit one image of the baked good with the baker and one without, the recipe and a short story describing the baked good. Goodies are judged on visual appeal and creativity, so get baking!
- Saturday through Wednesday, May 9-13: The Great Burien Baking Challenge
