After narrowing the entries to three, Gaard Swanson hosted the competition at the KOMO TV Studios. The judges were Stacy Fortner, pastry chef from Tom Douglas restaurants, and self-proclaimed foodies KOMO News's Seth Wayne and Refined's Malia Karlinsky. At stake was a grand prize package including 4 tickets to opening night of Waitress the Musical at the Paramount Theatre and having the winning recipe featured in the show's cookbook. Serving up a winner for Refined's 'Waitress' Pie Contest!

This musical 'Waitress' tells the story of Jenna, a waitress slash pie maker and her dreams of saying *so long* to her small town and loveless mariage. A baking contest may be her best chance at changing her life. Refined wanted to help some of our viewers see waitress on stage at the Paramount Theatre! So we whipped up a contest, and asked them to write in and share the story behind their favorite homemade pie.

Entries came pouring in like fruit filling! We trimmed them down to three finalists, and invited them to the KOMO TV studios for a friendly competition.

The contestants had to impress three celebrity judges: Stacy Fortner, pastry chef from Tom Douglas restaurants-- and self-proclaimed foodies KOMO News's Seth Wayne, and Seattle Refined's Malia Karlinsky.

At stake: a grand prize package including 4 tickets to opening night and the winning recipe featured in the show cookbook.

it was a 'sweet' competition with Margi Hamed's Luscious Lemon Pie, Gina Corpening's Blueberry Lemon Pie and Kathleen Fleming's Peach Plum Pie. Watch the story to see who won the Grand Prize... and what happened next!
