Seattle Symphony launches a record label

Seattle Symphony and music director Ludovic Morlot announced this week that they are launching an in-house record label called Seattle Symphony Media.

The label will include both live and studio recordings and will be available in physical and digital formats.

"Over the past three years, this orchestra has developed a highly sophisticated sound under Ludovic Morlot's leadership, producing night after night of inspired music making," said executive director Simon Woods. "Our new label will not only introduce this partnership to a global audience, but also reflect the creative and imaginative programming that we have become known for at home."

The first three recordings are scheduled for release in April and will feature French and American composers. Check out Seattle Symphony Media online for more information and sound clips.
