This is for all you fitspos and New Year's resolution-ists out there - you're in the right place! Seattle was ranked the seventh best city for an active lifestyle.
According to a study from Wallethub, "lose weight and exercise more" is at the top of the list for New Year's resolutions and only about 8 percent of people actually stick to those goals. But! If you live in Seattle and fitness is a "New Year, New You" vibe, there is a chance that 8 percent could become you!
Wallethub analyzed where Americans have the best chance of balancing a healthy diet with ample physical activity and compared the 100 biggest U.S. cities across metrics including average monthly fitness-club fee to bike score to share of physically inactive adults to name a few.
In a list of 100 cities, Seattle scored high in fitness centers per capita, percent of healthy adults, and walk score, coming in at 9th, 6th and 10th respectively.
And with all these mountains and fabulous bodies of water, who would beat us you ask?! Well, here's the top 10:
- Honolulu, HI
- Chicago, IL
- San Francisco, CA
- San Diego, CA
- New York, NY
- Portland, OR
