Seattle is one of the top 5 most literate cities in the country

A new study on literacy in the United States has found Seattle to be one of the top five most literate cities in the country.

The study, by Central Connecticut State University, looked at how well Americans used their literacy skills based on six categories: bookstores, residents' educational attainment, newspaper circulation, use of online resources, the library system, and periodical publishing resources.

It showed that the most literate cities were largely in the Northeast, with Washington D.C. ranking 'Most Literate' for the fourth year straight. Seattle, Minneapolis, Atlanta and Pittsburgh round of the rest of the top five.
