'The Goonies' drive-in movie night at Washington State Fairgrounds

The Washington State Fair may be off this year, but the fairgrounds are still being put to use — like for their third annual drive-in movie night with the Puyallup Food Bank!

Pack up the car with blankets and good company for a screening of "The Goonies" on Saturday, Aug. 22, in honor of the classic film's 35th anniversary. The event is free with a suggested food donation to the Puyallup Food Bank.

And a total bonus — the Fisher Scones Wagon will be there! Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

This is a first-come, first-served event starting approximately at 9 p.m. (or just after sunset) with gates opening at 7:30 p.m. It'll take place in the Blue Parking Lot off Meridian Street S and 10th Avenue SE. The Washington State Fair and its guests must comply with the governor’s Safe Start Reopening Plan, as it relates to drive-in entertainment - which means 10-feet between vehicles, concessions vendors following Department of Health guidelines, and more.

Be safe - and enjoy!
