Looking for the right place to donate to Hurricane Harvey relief?

Hurricane Harvey turned Texan’s lives upside down in Houston, Beaumont, Corpus Christi and all along the Gulf Coast. We’ve all seen the coverage, heard from friends and family affected, and probably felt a little helpless. It can be incredibly overwhelming trying to determine where the best place to donate is, which organization will help the most people, and where your money will do the most good.

So here’s an idea from KOMO 4 and Seattle Refined that will hopefully make it easier to help. Starting today, we’re teaming up with Salvation Army and our entire parent company, Sinclair Broadcast Group (173 television stations) across the country to raise funds these families so desperately need. SBG will match total donations collected up to $100,000.

Here's the link where you can donate online now.

We'll also be accepting checks (made out to Salvation Army) on Friday, August 31 at our KOMO Plaza studios all day long:

KOMO Plaza
140 Fourth Ave. N.
Seattle, WA 98109

At The Bellevue Collection from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

The Bellevue Collection
Center Court
575 Bellevue Square
Bellevue, WA 98004

Or inside the Gold Gate at the Washington State Fair:
