The New York Times recently wrote an article on a "humor algorithm" developed by the Humor Research Lab, and its use to identify the funniest cities in America's 50 largest.
Seattle barely made the Top 10 cut, ranking at #10. (Note: We think it's unfair that Portland is #5 - if we had a TV series dedicated to us with Saturday Night Live producers and comedians we'd probobaly be higher on the list too).
Experts took into account the prevalence of humor in locals daily lives, the number of visits to comedy websites, tweets, radio stations, and much more.
Chicago, home of improv, ranked number one. Fort Worth, TX came in last.
