Let's Go Places: Learn the ropes of rock climbing

Are you ready to ascend to great heights? Do you love adventurous workouts? Oh, and do you have a strong grip?

Rock climbing is more than an adrenaline rush; it's a competitive sport and a serious workout. We wanted to learn the ropes, so Seattle Refined popped by Vertical World – America's First Climbing Gym for some hands-on experience. While we're not ready to climb real rocks just yet, we found a sleek, sporty car that's ready for a climbing challenge.

You can't get to some of the world's best climbing locations without some rocky terrain, and Toyota's 4Runner is capable of tackling various ground, whether rocks, mud, sand, or all of the above.

Offering 270 horsepower through the 4.0-liter V6 engine, this beast of an off-roader is perfect for camping, getting you to the base of your favorite hiking spot, or driving on a trailhead.

As for the adventures of day-to-day life, the 4Runner can face the winter roads, the stormy driving conditions, and the intense winds that can threaten to ruin a commute. It has safety, comfort, and strength in one fierce-looking package.

We've already mentioned the 4.0-liter V6 engine and 270 horsepower, but did we mention that the 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 pounds? Want to take the family boating? Use a 4Runner and tow that boat yourself. Want to go camping with the pals? Use a 4Runner and haul your own equipment.

While the car can seat up to five people, if you have lots of cargo, the second row of seats in the 4Runner can lay flat to provide 89.7 cubic feet of storage space. Pack in your climbing ropes, belays, harnesses, and more!

Plus, for those camping trips and neighborhood functions, the 4Runner has an available pull-out cargo deck that can support up to 440 pounds. All you have to do is slide the cargo deck out from the back of the vehicle, and you have an immediate table space, seat, or counter.

Each 4Runner features Toyota's standard Star Safety System that includes Vehicle Stability Control with traction control, an Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Smart Stop Technology brake-override system, as well as eight airbags.

Off-road capabilities

This 4X4 TRD Off-Road vehicle includes Toyota's Crawl Control feature, which helps drivers maintain control when driving up, over, or down obstacles. CRAWL regulates engine speed and braking force so the driver can focus on steering.

The Toyota 2018 4Runner is abounding in class and style. The ultimate picture of strength, this is the car no one wants to mess with. Strong lines and an imposing figure will leave any onlookers without doubts of this vehicle's prowess on the road.

Choose any number of colors for your 4Runner. Barcelona Red Metallic, Nautical Blue Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic are among the striking colors and shades to choose from.

Outdoorsman can even purchase the Wilderness Package, complete with roof rack crossbars, all-weather floor liners, and cargo tray. Another available package includes the TRD Enhancement Package, with TRD 17-inch matte gray alloy wheels and a TRD-stamped aluminum front skid plate.
