Let the debate begin: Washington's top 10 colleges, ranked

Let me start by saying I absolutely disagree with the words I'm about to write — in fact as a proud Coug, it almost pains me to do so.

Since that's been established, WalletHub has released its report of the best colleges and universities of 2021. The personal-finance website compared more than 1,000 colleges and universities in the United States on 30 aspects, including student selectivity, cost, career outcomes, graduation rates and student to faculty ratio.

Much to my dismay, the #1 slot for our state went to UW.

The University of Washington ranked #1 for admission rate, 9th in net-cost and on-campus crime, 3rd in graduation rate and #1 in post-attendance median salary, among other stats.

Congratulations, I guess.

Here's how the rest of the ranking stacked up:

  1. University of Washington
  2. Whitman College
  3. Gonzaga University
  4. Walla Walla University
  5. Seattle University
  6. Whitworth University
  7. Washington State University
  8. Pacific Lutheran University
  9. Seattle Pacific University
  10. Western Washington University
