How you can help save dogs and other pets displaced by recent disasters

Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida have caused massive destruction, taking out key infrastructure, obliterating homes and even taking lives. If you have a special place for the furry four-legged victims of these natural disasters, you can take action locally to help.

Glow in the Park: Seattle Humane's Walk for the Animals on the evening of Saturday, October 7 will raise funds to benefit the Disaster and Life-Saver Rescue programs that transfer at-risk animals to safety at the Seattle Humane society. Recently, Seattle Humane has transferred over 100 shelter pets from Texas to make room in shelters there for pets displaced by the hurricane.

Participants will walk around Green Lake with their dogs in tow, wearing glowing gear together. Many dogs will also be wearing their Halloween costumes! The event will also feature adorable adoptable pets, pet-centric vendors and a photobooth sponsored by Mud Bay.

If you want to help bring at-risk pets to safety, joining the fun at Glow in the Park is a great way to make an impact. To learn more and register your team, visit bit.ly/Glow-in-the-Park.
