Dave Matthews and several other Pacific Northwest musicians are coming together in support of local farms.
Love the Land is a virtual benefit concert taking place Wednesday, Sept. 30 and hosted by the Washington Farmland Trust, a nonprofit protecting threatened farmland, and Viva Farms, a nonprofit preserving sustainable farming out of Skagit and King counties.
Joining Matthews on the lineup is Luz Elena Mendoza of Y La Bamba, Torno Nakayama and Naomi Wachira. The money raised will benefit local farms, which, according to Washington Farmland Trust, are facing pressure with rising land prices, climate change and the coronavirus pandemic — the goal is to raise $350,000.
The virtual event will happen on YouTube from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, and ticket holders will receive a link before the event.
