Bored? Wash your car [the right way]

If you're looking for an easy project that will make you feel like you accomplished something today, keep reading.

Happiness is a clean car.

I don't know who said that, perhaps just me, but cleaning anything (even the dishes) always makes me feel better no matter what's going on in my life - or with the world at large. And cars are much larger than dishes, so hopefully the sense of accomplishment that comes with cleansing them of dirt is also larger.

Who knows.

What I do know is how to wash and wax a car. And I've made a retro-tastic training video (click the arrow in the photo above) to share that knowledge with you. So, if you've go the time, watch the video, park the car in a shady spot on your driveway, grab the hose and get cracking.

Things you'll need:

  • garden hose
  • car wash soap
  • a chamois cloth or drying towel
  • wash mitt
  • one or two buckets
  • can of carnauba wax
  • wax applicator pad
  • microfiber shop towels

The best place to get this stuff is an auto parts store. Your local grocer might also carry a small selection.
