The Best Non-Alcoholic Sips for NYE if You're Not Drinking

The holidays are a time of cheer, merriment and general togetherness. There's also usually a lot of alcohol around, especially in the home stretch between Christmas and New Year's Eve. But what if imbibing isn't your bag? For those of you that don't partake, perhaps your go-to Shirley Temple has lost its saccharine luster.

Don't sweat a thing, we've got you covered. Whether you're throwing your own soiree at home as the ball drops and have free reign over beverages or plan on being out and about, here are five crisp, decadent and refreshing zero proof drinks to sip on through the tail end of the holiday season.

La Croix

Seriously, we could drink this stuff all day and night. In particular, the key lime flavor, which was introduced at the tail end of 2017, is deliciously satisfying. Seriously, that sweet key lime tang is uncanny. Stash an eight pack in your fridge (or two if you're going cuh-ray-zy) and never look back.

Grab A Mocktail

If you find yourself at a cocktail bar and at a loss while glancing over the menu, don't fret...typically, the bartender can easily whip you up a mocktail based on whatever tickles your fancy.

Soda Water With Lime

Nothing beats a crisp and ice cold soda water with lime. Sure, it's basic, but you can't deny this bubbly, citrusy standby its gold status. The best part? A lot of bars will hook you up with this drink for free. If you're feeling a little extra, ask the bartender for a dash or two of bitters et voila! Your waistline and wallet will thank you.

Non-Alcoholic French 75

Pinkies out, you too too can join in on the group toast with your crisp and 100 percent virgin French 75. A typical French 75 has champagne, lemon, sugar and gin - on its clean version, take out the gin and champagne and sub in your favorite tonic water (we love Fever Tree), a couple dashes of orange bitters and a bit of sugar and boom. If you're feeling extra fancy, you can even use rock candy swizzle sticks to sweeten the deal instead.

Non-Alcoholic Hot Buttered Rum

Alright, so you've got the crew gathered around the fireplace and you're beginning to feel that magnetic attraction - you need something to warm your hands and belly. No problem! Fix yourself up a non alcoholic hot buttered rum - all you have to do is sub out the rum - the rest of the flavors (nutmeg, brown sugar, butter and milk do all the heavy flavor lifting anyway). Pour this warm, winter ambrosia into your favorite mug and kick back - you deserve it.
