A semi-comprehensive guide to Valentine's Day around the PNW

Ahhhhh a holiday for lovers. For the past few years I have spent my V-Day with my mother and a box of Domino's Pizza and no I'm not salty or bitter at all.

So for all you coupled honies out there - here's some ideas from my *very single* brain. In return, I PRAY THEE LAY OFF THE INSTAGRAM POSTS, OKAY?!

Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes. Head on over to the lovely and beautiful island of Friday Harbor! The Lakedale Resort and Three Lakes is hosting a culinary experience for you and your honey where you will spend the weekend on the island and have a culinary experience where you make sushi! Learn from the sushi master himself, Frank Sicilia who will teach the basics of sushi (tools, ingredients, prepping, making the perfect sushi rice) and enjoy your creations! Lodging rates start at $199 and the culinary experience is $120 per person.

Red Wine & Chocolate Festival. If you are looking to head east, Lake Chelan Wine Valley is hosting their annual Red Wine & Chocolate festival next month both on February 9-10 and February 16-17. More than 25 wineries in the valley will offer special pairings with artisan wine and chocolate treats. "Explore the tasting rooms and enjoy wonderfully crafter, artisanal red wine flights paired with special treats like handmade truffles, choclate bark and gorumet s'mores." There will also be winemaker dinners, bonfires and barrel select wine tasting. Cost will vary from winery to winery but some activites and tastings are free.

Hollywood Tavern. This Woodinville staple is celebrating love with oysters, seafood and delicious drinks! Hollywood Tavern is hosting a six-course Oyster and Seafood Dinner. The Tavern will be open until 3 p.m. for regular service and then closed to the public for the reservation-only dinner. The six-course meal starts at 6 p.m. and is $100 per person. Space is limited so be sure to make your reservations ASAP!

Smith Tower. The Smith Tower is hosting a fun, new and re-running event called, "Smells Like Seattle Spirits: Tales of the Northwest's Rumrunning Past." If you and your honey are cocktail loving babes, this could be a fun and different event for you! Here's how its described "Seattle has its fair share of stories to add to Prohibition lore, having given rise to one of the most successful bootleggers in Pacific Northwest history, Roy Olmstead. Smith Tower and The Good Bootlegger's Guild present an educational and engaging speaker series in three parts, combining history, mythology, whiskey, and good old-fashioned storytelling. Doors open to 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited and standing room will apply if the event is sold out. A full bar and menu are available for purchase throughout the evening for your enjoyment." This event is $20 per person and will go from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Tutta Bella. I don't know about you but pizza on Valentine's Day is a staple in my household. Last year is was Domino's but this year... I'm going to up level I think at Tutta Bella. Anyways, Tuta Bella is offering their traditional, authentic Neapolitan menu that features Filomena's Tiramusu and an authentic Italian chocolate candy called Baci Perugina. This candy is a famous italian chocolate-covered hazelnut candy that are individually wrapped with beautiful messages of love tucked on the inside!

Goldfinch Tavern. Head on down to the Four Seasons and indulge in a four course dinner at the Goldfinch Tavern. The menu will have a selction of seasonal PNW dishes like Dungeness crab bisque, spot prawn pasta with tarragon, smoked shallot cream, beef tenderloin and so much more. Let's talk about dessert because this is everyones favorite part - dark chocolate lava cake and rosemary lemon torte with candied almonds.

Piroshky Piroshky. Piroshky Piroshky will be serving up heart-shaped Strawberry Marzipan pasties and a specially-prepared Valnetine's Day Box full of customer choices of seven sweet piroshkies. You can grab the Marzipan heart that is available from February 1st to the 21st for $4.50 and the Valentine's Day gift box is available for pre-order only at $24.50. Available from February 1st-13th.

Cortina. This Ethan Stowell staple will be serving up an $85 dollar four course menu with starters such as Oysters with verhus granita and Beef Heart Tartar, followed by a choice of pastas like Lobster Ravioli with black trumpet mushroom. The main course options include Wagyu Zabuton Steak with bone marrow, baby root vegetables and red wine sauce. For dessert, the options include a Baked Caramel Apple Tart or Torta Caprese with dark chocolate ganache and rose creme fraiche. There will be an optional wine pairing for $45/per person.

Staple & Fancy. Another Ethan Stowell for ya, for $85/person, the four-course meal will begin with a selection for the table like Oysters with citrus Champagne and a Parsnip and Pear soup with pancetta crumble. Guests then choose a pasta to share followed by a main course like Duck confit with foie jus, green lentils and sultanas. Dessert options include a Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake with blood orange. You can add a wine pairing option for $55/person!

Marine Hardware. For $85 per person, Marine Hardware will be hosting a five-course dinner with a set menu featuring Tagliarini with Dungeness crab and meyer lemon, Sea Scallops with shaved fennel, endive and blood orange, and New York Strip with black trumpet mushroom puree and fingerling potatoes. The evening ends with an assortment of truffles and cookies! You can add an additional wine pairing for $45 per person.

Bramling Cross is hosting a lobster themed dinner at $85/per person that will include Deviled Eggs, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Fritters and a while wood fire grilled Lobster plus sides and a whole lot more! You can add a 6 oz wood fired filet mignon for $15, sustainable caviar for $15 per person and an optional wine pairing for $40.

How To Cook a Wolf. Head on up to Queen Anne where How To Cook a Wolf will be hosting a four-course meal at $85 per person. For starters there will be a Hamachi Crudo with radish, pomegranate and Meyer lemon granita and Chicken Liver Mousse Bruschetta with huckleberry mostarda. For pasta, there will be options like Tagliarini with uni butter, Meyer lemon and pangrattato and Ricotta Ravioli with Swiss chard, brown butter, and saba, andPotato Gnocchi with Lardo, red onion and Pecorino Romano. Add Willapa Bay Oysters with Champagne mignonette for $3.25 each. You can also add a wine pairing option for $55 per person.

Head over to Tangletown where Mkt. will be serving a $85 person four-course feast with shared dishes like Tuna Tartare, Crab Bisque, and Rigatoni with braised lamb, tomato, sultanas, mint and ricotta. Main choices include Seared Duck Breast with celery root puree and grape mostrada and Wood Grilled Scallops with rapini, romesco, and lemon. For $85/per person, Madrona's Red Cow will be serving up a four-course menu with options like Fish Bisque, Rabbit Croquettes with smoked carrot and yogurt, Grilled Half Lobster, Lamb Chops with mint pistou, and White Chocolate Crème Brulee. Guests also have the option to add on Caviar Service featuring an ounce of sustainable caviar to share with chilled vodka, savory madeleines, and accompaniments for $40/person. Rione XIII. Rione XIII will offer a $85 four-course menu with options like Roasted Carrots with burnt honey vinaigrette and housemade ricotta. Pasta options include Rigatoni Bolognese and Potato Gnocchi with shaved guanciale and taleggio. Mains include Braised Beef Short Rib with mustard greens and gremolata and seared scallops with celery root, frisse, radish and pomegranate. For dessert, there will be Tiramisu and honey cake with vanilla mousse and blood orange. Additional and optional wine pairing for $40/ per person.

Tavolata. Both Tavolatas in Belltown and Capitol Hill will have a four-course menu for $85/person. Shared starters include Hamachi Crudo with blood orange granita and kumquat, and Foie Gras Mousse Bruschetta with smoked cherries, and Duck Prosciutto with fig mostarda. Pasta and main options include Tagliatelle with smoked shellfish, trout roe, and crème fraîche, and Prime New York Strip with cauliflower, delicata squash, and red wine sauce, and Roasted Porchetta with creamy polenta and onion jus. Dessert includes Buttermilk Panna Cotta and Lemon Zeppole with chocolate dipping sauce. Add 5 grams of Perigord Truffles to select dishes for $15. Add a wine pairing option for $45/person.

First course choices include Poached Oysters with sorrel and bacon, Nettle Ravioli with sunchoke and black truffle sauce, Sea Scallop and Spiced Pork Belly with saffron cider sauce, and Citrus, Avocado, and Pistachio Salad. Second course choices include Lummi Island Reef Net Sockeye with chervil, chive and caper sauce, golden beets, and pea vines, Coriander Crusted Duck with huckleberry sauce, vanilla parsnips, and duck fat potatoes, Lemongrass Braised Beef Short Ribs with coconut black rice, purple daikon pickle, and burdock ribbons, and Eggplant Panisse with blue oyster mushrooms, leeks, and smoked tomato vinaigrette.
