A Seattle charity that helps countless women change their lives for the better is gearing up for one of its biggest weekends of the year. Dress for Success Seattle helps empower women entering the workforce by providing them the confidence, skills and wardrobe they'll need to succeed. And YOU can help the cause, just by doing a little shopping.
BYOB! Bring your own bag, because you're going to need it.
"One of the great things about Dress for Success is we get a ton of amazing donations," said Laurel Spellman Smith, volunteer with Dress for Success Seattle. "And, a lot of those donations aren't necessarily perfect for the program, to suit women to be interviewed. But they're like party dresses or jeans, high-end designers or an interesting piece that wouldn't necessarily be work appropriate and so we are allowed to raise money with those clothes."
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you're going to want to stop by Dress for Success on 5th Avenue in downtown Seattle for some crazy cheap deals on thousands of items. One hundred percent of the cash made at this weekend's sale goes directly to Dress for Success.
"We've got some amazing designers here that are all going to be half off during the sale," explained Spellman Smith. "We've got some Kate Spade shoes. Some really cute sandals. We would sell them for $32 and I think they would go close to $300-400. So, these will be like $16. And, there are some great dresses that people drop off for donation that may not be exactly work appropriate, but they're totally appropriate for a party or any kind of event."
The perfect event for one of those party dresses?! The Curated Designer Sale at the Cloud Room Friday evening.
"When we got word they needed help with funding we actually jumped at the opportunity," said Colton Winger, Cuniform. "We saw there's so much value here in terms of vintage, recycled designer pieces that are kind of one of a kind. It's a larger focus on designer and kind of like this pre-filtered selection of used and vintage designer. We're going to be pricing everything and it's going to be at wallet-friendly pricing for sure.
