Beauty Experiences in Osoyoos: Come for the spa, stay for the outdoor bathtub

As part of our deep dive into the Napa of the North, BC’s Okanagan Valley, we’re checking out all the things to do in Osoyoos. Today, a resort classic: spa must-try experiences.

It’s not a vacation if you’re not relaxed, right?

That’s why I checked out Solterra Desert Spa at Spirit Ridge in Osoyoos, BC – you know, to try out spa stuff for you guys and tell you if they’re any good. Because I’m a really serious journalist! I splurged on a hot stone massage at their spa just to make sure I can confirm for you that you’ll feel relaxed afterward. You’re welcome!

Let’s be real here: very few massages are bad. This one, however, was great. The team at the spa was professional (and spoke so softly!), the stones were hot, the essential oils were lovely, the water had mint and cucumber in it, and the overhead music was soothing. I have no complaints.

“We want guests to find that they came for – peace and reconnection with themselves and others,” Resort Manager Daniel Bibby says. He recommended the massage and facial treatments in particular for guests who want to wind down but look great while they’re at it. I have to say, the man speaks the truth.

Worth noting if spas specifically aren’t realy your schtick: outdoor bathtubs are pretty great. Guys, I hadn’t realized these are a real thing. Turns out if you want to sit in a super-deep bath tub under the stars on the balcony outside your suite overlooking the vineyards of the Okanagan Valley while you catch up on Jane the Virgin, you can. (You know, not that I did that or anything.) (I did do that. It was awesome.)
