Just because you're WFH wearing your comfy sweatpants and that sweatshirt from college doesn't mean you can't add a little self-care to your life. In fact, you may actually need it.
In these uncertain and stressful times, it's SO important to take care of yourself. Here's the good news: you don't need to go out and buy more stuff. A trip to the salon, spa or beauty supply store may not be happening, but a walk to the bathroom is very doable. There's a good chance you have Epsom salt in there.
Go look; I'll wait.
Inexpensive and multi-purpose, Epsom salt can be dissolved in a warm water bath to help soothe aches and pains. Add a couple more staples, and you can use it as a scrub on your elbows, heels or anywhere. It's a great way to exfoliate. Epsom salt is the main ingredient in many bath scrubs, which are why it's SO SIMPLE to make on your own.
To whip up a delicious smelling Lemon Rosemary Scrub, you'll need that Epsom salt, Grape Seed Oil (in the kitchen pantry), Lemon Essential Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil. Reality check: just about any essential oil you have on hand will work.
This recipe makes enough to fill a pint-sized mason jar plus a half-pint.
- Mix up the Lemon Rosemary Scrub: 2 cups of Epsom Salt, mixed with 4-5 tablespoons of grapeseed oil, 15 drops of lemon oil and 5 drops rosemary essential oil. This probably goes without saying, but adjust the amount of essential oil to suit your personable preference.
- Scoop the scrub in the jars. Any leftover will keep nicely for a few months in an airtight jar.
- Make yourself a warm bath and dissolve some of your Lemon Rosemary Scrub in the water. Or take a nice warm bath and use the scrub exfoliate.
- Feel relaxed and smell really good.
It's that easy!
