Welcome to Food Month

Who decided that National Cheese Day was July 4? Or that there needed to be a Pet Rock Day (coming up Sept. 7)? We're not sure the answer, but we want in on the fun. Here at Seattle Refined, we're declaring September to be Food Month.

In talking to people, we've found September to be a month of mixed messages. People are excited to go back to school, to update their fall wardrobes with the newest trends, and to start drinking their Pumpkin Spice Lattes again. But most people also start the descent into the depression that can often come along with the end of summer, the end of sun, and the beginning of grey, grey and more grey.

Let us help! Let's spend the whole month celebrating food and drink here in the wonderful Pacific Northwest paradise we live in. Yes, even when it's grey outside it can be warm and jolly inside the new Mexican spot around the corner. Or instead of pulling out that artificial sun lamp, pull out your apron and try making the amazing scones usually found only at the WA State Fair.

This month we're doubling up on the food coverage that usually populates our Eat & Drink section. Think more restaurant reviews, more 'best of' lists, more recipes and of course - WAY more screen-lickingly delicious food photography.

We hope you enjoy - and as always, please let us know in the comments if there is a specific restaurant, food, drink, chef or trend you think we should know about. Let's share the wealth people!

Happy Food Month y'all!
