Life is too short to drink bad beer.
That's why Men's Journal compiled a list of the "101 Best Beers in America" and two Washington brewskis made the list. Kentucky Dark Star from Fremont Brewing Company, and Field 41 American Pale Ale by Bale Breaker Brewing.
Here’s what Men’s Journal had to say about both:
Kentucky Dark Star by Fremont Brewing Company - Imperial Stout
“This limited, bourbon barrel-aged imperial oatmeal stout spends time on 15-year-old, single use Kentucky Bourbon Barrels before bottling. Smooth oats thread together with roasted and chocolate malts and sweet bourbon heat to create this ephemeral beauty that’s not to be missed.”
Field 41 American Pale Ale by Bale Breaker Brewing - American Pale Ale
“Bale Breaker sits in the middle of Washington's hop country, literally surrounded by towering hills of the aromatic green flowers. It's such an idyllic spot to open a hop-focused brewery, it's shocking almost nobody else has followed suit. Bale Breaker's pale ale, easily considered a session IPA, provides big flavor with balanced bitterness. "It's a crushable hoppy pale, that's bright and refreshing," says Morgan Herzog, owner of Seattle's Beer Junction taproom and bottle shop.”
