Downtown Renton is always bustling with a lively social scene. But on September 28, people will be pouring into the city for a night full of wine tasting, shopping, music, and art.
Nearby wineries will be paired with 11 local businesses, so you can sip local vino while strolling through your favorite downtown shops. Below, a feature of the fun to come:
Stop 1: Merrill Gardens and Davenport Cellars. Enjoy incredible art at Merrill Gardens, the retirement community that’s been voted “The Best of Renton” for 11 years. The senior living center will be showcasing the work of over 30 artists—enjoy an evening of design while relishing sweet wines by Washington's highly acclaimed vineyard Davenport Cellars and delicious hors-d'oeuvres.
Stop 2: Garland Jewelers and Cedar River Cellars. They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but we’d say that wine is a close second. Garland Jewelers will dazzle you with sparkly rings, colored gemstones, pearl necklaces, and custom-made watches, and Cedar River Cellars will charm you with refreshing, local wines.
Stop 3: Guitar and Game X-plosion and Naches Heights Vineyard. Your senses will “xplode” with amusement as you browse all of the music, games, guitars, and art available at Game X-plosion. Meanwhile, enjoy the taste explosion of wine from Naches Heights Vineyards—their grapes are grown in unique volcanic soils.
Stop 4: Idolize Tattoo and Leony’s Cellars. If getting inked is on your bucket list, but haven’t taken the first step, walk into Idolize Tattoo to browse through hundreds of designs or chat with an artist to collaborate on a custom-design tattoo. While you craft a custom tattoo, sip hand-crafted wines from Leony’s Cellars.
Stop 5: Urban Sprouts and Market Vineyards. Trendy houseplants are blossoming in apartments and houses in every major city, and Urban Sprouts is helping people with and without green thumbs transform their city homes into outdoorsy dwellings. As you hand-pick your favorite succulents, enjoy the taste of wine made from hand-picked fruit from Market Vineyards.
Stop 6: 4 Sisters Holistic Remedies and Truth Teller Winery. For the problems that wine can’t fix, there are holistic remedies. Enter: 4 Sisters, an herbal apothecary, shop, education center, and place of healing. Explore their stock of teas, essential oils, healing crystals, and chat with their intuitive readers. We can’t deny that the readings are precise—which is why it only fits that 4 Sisters is paired with Truth Teller Winery.
Stop 7: Bella Blue Salon and Vino Aquino Winery. You’ll be feeling anything but blue after chatting with the stylists at Bella Blue Salon. Ask about bold new hair colors, daring cuts, or simply make an appointment to touch-up your roots. Either way, you’ll love the atmosphere and tasting wine from Vino Aquino Winery (be sure to take a peek at their custom labels!).
Stop 8: Ascendance Pole & Aerial Arts and Ellensburg Canyon Winery. Plan the ultimate girl’s night by learning how to pole dance or by embracing your inner Pink and trying out the aerial arts at the brand-new Ascendance Pole & Aerial Arts. While you learn all about this extraordinary art, enjoy the distinct taste of wine from Ellensburg Canyon Winery.
Stop 9: Method + Madness Salon and Spa and Martedi Winery. Formerly known as Bianco Salon, the new and improved Method + Madness Salon & Spa in downtown Renton is all about making you look and feel your best. Savor the flavor of wine from Martedi Winery while you collaborate with the stylists for a new ‘do or book a relaxing massage.
Stop 10: Custom Pressed Tees and Wilridge Winery. If you’ve been planning a special group getaway, business retreat, or bachelorette party, these two businesses have got you covered. Create matching t-shirts at Custom Pressed Tees and plan a weekend getaway to Wilridge Vineyard, one of the only “recreational vineyards” in Washington. You and your pals can stroll the vineyard, go hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and more.
Stop 11: 8-Bit Arcade and Soos Creek Wine Cellars. Relive your youth by challenging your friends to games of pinball, Jenga, and other classic throwbacks at 8-Bit Arcade. Be careful not to let the delicious wine from Soos Creek Wine Cellars throw you off your game!
The wine starts flowing on September 28 at 6 pm and ends at 9 pm. Tickets for the Renton Wine Walk are $25 in advance or $30 at the event. Click here to buy tickets online.
