"The Lounge," Capitol Hill's newest coffee shop is more than just a place to grab your cappuccino. It's also...an AT&T store?
The new coffee-meets-retail experience is a partnership between the tech company and Ada's Technical Books and Cafe. The idea is that folks shopping for new phones and tablets could also grab a coffee, maybe sit down and do some work, and extend what might have previously been a short trip.
"[It's] more about an experience than it is about about retail," said Jeff Bradley, West Region President at AT&T of the new 3,000 square foot store. Coffee robots named KyotoBot and SyphonBot will be serving coffee (alongside real humans).
But you don't necessarily have to be an AT&T customer to hang there.
"We want it to be a second living room for Capitol Hill residents, both AT&T and non-AT&T customers, to meet up, work, and hang out," said Bradley.
Seattle was chosen as the place to launch this concept because The Lounge combines our two fav things: - great coffee and tech gadgets.
Along with those two, The Lounge will offer guests and customers spaces to enjoy acoustic sets from local musicians, compete in E-sports, learn how to paint and test virtual reality gadgets.
THE FUTURE IS NOW, PEOPLE!
